One download at a time

Asked by Darziel

I'm having trouble with downloading more than one file at the same time. It just won't download from more than one user. Yes, I set both download limits to zero and upload limit to 3. I have Windows 7 if that makes any difference. I'm also connecting through a firewall with manual port forwarding. It worked fine before; this problem appeared lately. I tried installing older version (0.697) with same results. Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated and helpful.

What versions of DC++ are supported in this Answers page? https://answers.launchpad.net/dcplusplus/+faq/589

I can't search nor download. How can I setup active mode? https://answers.launchpad.net/dcplusplus/+faq/131

Read the 'Slow Downloads' FAQ on DC++ help or at http://www.dslreports.com/faq/8735 for possible reasons & solutions.

Since you are using Windows 7, I would recommend for you to upgrade to the latest version of DC++. Since the version you are using is no longer getting any help support.

Well, I am using version 0.75. I just found out that I can download from one user only if it is the same file. The problem lies in downloading two or more different files. For example, I'm downloading one song and I'm trying to download another (of course from different user) song. It just keeps saying that I'm 'Connecting' until it 'Times Out' for the second song. I'm guessing maybe some hub set up some stupid rule that you can't download more than one thing at once?

in any case such a rule would only apply to connections initiated through that particular hub. try in other hubs.

Didn't work. Only one file downloads at a time, others just stay in queue...

make sure non-running downloads still have sources ("Users" column of the DL queue); if there aren't any, you'll have to search for alternates. also check that their status is not set to "Paused".

another possibility; check your "Auto-priority" and "Auto-drop" settings in Settings > Queue; clear all the boxes to reset them to default values.

Everything is set to reset. Strangely, I noticed that this limit doesn't affect uploading. I have 3 people dl from me as I write this.

odd, maybe there is an external application interfering with DC++ - try disabling firewalls or anti-virus programs.

if you're still stuck, you could try to download a fresh DC++ and run it in a separate folder (the .zip archive can be extracted anywhere and keeps its settings in the folder where it was extracted), with completely new settings; then try to find out what particular setting was going wrong...

Can you help with this problem?
