External Ip without a Router

Asked by Timi

When I try to connect they show me this:
Your client send incorrect IP 192...... in connection request, your real IP is 85......
I'm NOT behind a router, I'm directly connected on a Thompson ST706 Modem. But still I've got the problem with a different External Wan IP and my Internal IP. How is that possible?
When I fill in the external WAN adress, I can't search nor get someones file list.

Could it be that i've been connected with a router (but now not any more)?

Googleing Thompson ST706 reveals that the device is a router/modem combination. That you could get from even the message since ips beginning with 192... are in a private ip range. Follow the linked active mode guide, the part what telling you what to do if you behind a router....

Can you help with this problem?
