Connection refused by target machine

Asked by Loki

I am hosting a hub using "Shadows Direct Connect Hub 0.3.36".
I am using an address bypass via Dyndns.
The hub is up and running. I can see the users that are logged on.
Although, when I try to log into my own hub (I use DC++ v0.674) I get the standard "Connection refused by target machine." message.
I am able to log into other hubs. I have searched and reset and done everything I know how to do.
Does anyone have any ideas?

This have something to do with outdated hub software & you must be either on a firewall and/or router. SDCH (Shadows Direct Connect Hub) software is no longer getting any updates. Try using other hub software with link you can find on this page: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/dc?text=1

The DC++ version you are using is no longer getting any help support.

Well, that's all very nice.

But my problem is a routing issue.
Everything worked fine until I bought a new Wi-Fi modem and got rid of my router and cable connection.

When I reset the hub software, everything was fine. I'm just not able to log on to the hub I am hosting.

what if you use localhost:port (change port to the port number the hub is listening on) to connect to your hub? that generally works.

Can you help with this problem?
