DC++ just seems to stop taking new users after 2 hours

Asked by snaggletooth

After a couple hours up to half a day DC++ slowly stops taking users to my share and quits searching. DC++ doesn't close it just closes it's eyes and falls asleep. I'm using DC++ V0.868 but that doesn't matter because I get the same problems with any version. I upgraded to a new computer with a i9 and 64GB ram yet still the same trouble. It's not my provider because I changed and still the same. My share is 64TB. Help :)

I've upgradeds to version 0.880 and I still need to keep restarting DC++ in order to reconnecet users that have been waiting.
Just now I went from zero users to 3 users after another DC++ restart. this has been going on for a few years nows and speak of ""it's getting old" wtf do I need to do?

Sorry for the late answer.

It's probably because of your network configuration, either the external or local IP addresses are frequently changing.
To avoid this, as an easy solution, you can set Passive connection mode.
If you'd like to keep using DC++ in Active mode then you might need more advanced solutions like to try altering your network configuration.
For the latter, there are tips in the <Troubleshooting> part of https://dcplusplus.sourceforge.io/webhelp/faq_portforward.html

Thank You: eMTee (realprogger). I went back to Passive and will have to play around and learn the (advanced solutions). I've been Passive for years and have had this problem of users just evaporating away. So I change providers to that Fios and set "Active" and let DC++ configure my router which seems to be worse because DC++ lasted for a shorter amount of time. I've just been restarting DC++ back up and I'll just keep continuing....... But Passivley

Can you help with this problem?
