Port-Forwarding issues

Asked by Pariah

I'm running my internet from a D-Link DI-624 wireless router connected to a DI-704P router hosted on another computer. I am not using an ethernet cable.

I'm trying to set up my DC++ account to run actively. My computer is not currently networking with the one that's connected to the routers, however I believe the setup I have with the second machine categorizes me under "Topology C" according to this faq:

http://www.b.ali.btinternet.co.uk/DCPlusPlus/advancedUsage.html

The first thing I did was set up a static IP, which I believe is working correctly since I'm still able to surf. After this, came port-frowarding. I followed this straight-forward faq to the letter:

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DI-624/DiabloII.htm

But when I use the PFPortChecker, none of the ports I set up can be reached.

I THINK the problem has to do with what IP I'm entering into the "Private IP" box. I'm not sure whether to put my newly set up static IP, my LAN, or my WAN address in there. I already tried it with the static IP, but it didn't pass the test. I've yet to try it with the WAN or LAN, but I'm afraid I'm on the wrong track.

Have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

What is your Windows OS as in XP or Vista & DC++ that you are currently using?

Go to File/Settings/Connection Settings, update the information of External WAN/IP. To get your current IP, go to http://www.canyouseeme.org. Also, put TLS/TCP/UDP number. TCP/UDP default number is 1412 & 3528 is the alternative number. TLS can be any number between 1025 through 32768. Enable Don't allow hub/UPnP to override.

Are you on a firewall and/or router?

If are unable to connect & get on active mode, go this page http://www.dslreports.com/faq/dc?text=1 & try to find this item & download: UPnPTest.Exe

Can you help with this problem?
