Can connect, but searches/queues fail to find anything

Asked by Jon343

Hello everybody. I just downloaded DC++ 0.75 but I'm having difficulties in reaping it's benefits.

I can download hub lists--no problem. I can connect to any public hub I want that is within my minimum shared range, wherever it happens to be located in the world. However, when I try to download someone's file list in one of these hubs, the status says "Connecting" but never connects. It does not time out, it does not connect -- it just continues to read "Connecting" for an indefinite amount of time.

Also, when I run searches in the hub that I am currently in, DC++ tells me "Searching for (search entry)..." yet the same thing happens--it stays this way for an indefinite amount of time.

I am a student dorming at Lehigh University and I am using an ethernet cable that goes directly from my computer, into the wall, to achieve internet access. Any help on what I can do to get my queue's to work would be great!

Note:
I'm using a 2008 MacBook, but I'm running Windows XP via BootCamp (I've created a Windowx XP partition on my hard drive) and that's where I'm running DC++.

Thanks!!

Also -- I checked and double checked and my firewall is NOT blocking DC++.

Well, I've already filtered through that article over 6 times and I've determined that I am directly connected to the internet (internal IP = external IP address).

When I connect passively, things work fine. Still, active connection is not working and search/download fails...

Any other suggestions?

Are you on a firewall and/or router?

Go this page http://www.dslreports.com/faq/dc?text=1 & try to find this item & download: UPnPTest.Exe

Can you help with this problem?
