DC++ Crashes When Someone Connects to Me.

Asked by Guyz0r

Hi, when I connect to a DC++ Hub, my Dc++ crashes but I can still continue using the program normally. This happens only when someone connects to me. I can't figure out why but every time I connect, the same person reconnects to me causing the crash every single time.

Can someone offer any ideas or suggestions for preventing the crash?

Thanks

What version of DC++ do you use?

I'm using DC++ Version 0.7091.

I determined it had something to do with the hash and index files, so I temporarily moved them. I restarted DC++. It still shows how much I'm sharing, but it has to reindex and hash everything. The good part is, my DC++ isn't crashing anymore when people connect to me, but the bad news is, I have no idea if it's going to crash once it's finished hashing. It's going to take at least 5 hours for the hashing to finish and needless to say, I am not very happy about this. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks

Since you are running DC++ 0.7091, what OS are you using as in XP or Vista?

sounds like an external program (like a firewall) that might be messing with your connections; but in any case, DC++ shouldn't crash.

click "Create bug report" on the right, and try to follow this FAQ to see if you can get more information:
FAQ #337: “How can I create a proper crash report?”.

didn't read your second message... if you still have the corrupted files around, doing tests with the methods in the FAQ would be helpful.

Try updating to the latest version of DC++, since 0.7091 is an old version.

Can you help with this problem?
