Different usernames in DC++

Asked by Mavis

Hi ..

I've been using DC++ for some time with the same username .. Now my forum is setting up a hub, and for that, I would like to use the username that I have there, so our members can identify me. When I try to login to our hub,with that registered username I get the message :

The nick you are using is reserved for someone other. Change your nick and get back again.

Is is possible to have two identities. I wanted to keep my original username for all the other hubs, as that is what I am known by, but I would like my forum username in the new one.

Any help or suggestions gratefully received.

yes, take a look at the "Favorite hubs" window; there, you can set a different nick for each one of your favorite hubs.

Sorry .. That hasn't helped. In the favourites window of my forum's hub, I am registered with the username and password I chose .. unfortunately, I still get the same error message:

The nick you are using is reserved for someone other. Change your nick and get back again.

that error message is sent by the hub, not by DC++; all you can do is try to get hold of the owner of that hub and ask him about the error. (i would simply try with another nick in order to try to get in.)
