When searching, downloading starts automatically

Asked by Annis

I upgraded my DC++. In the new version, when I search for a file, I do not get a list of available users with that file. Instead the new version of DC++ automatically starts to download everything that it finds with that name that I search. I don't want that! I want the search to happen like it did in the older version. So that when I search for something I get a list (to the right hand area of the search window) of the available files maching my search, and from that list I select the one that I wish to download.

I have checked the settings but I don't understand what's wrong!

Results are by groups with the same Tiger Tree Hash (TTH) & DC++ 0.700 & up is now segmented (multisource) download.

Go to File, Settings, Advanced, uncheck Enable segmented downloads & OK. In order for this to take effect, you have to close DC++ application & reopen again.

Segmented downloads is good for files 10MB & up like RAR & video files. Also, if a user does not have a slot & another source has 1, it can help from time 2 time.

This is an option that will suit your preference.

Disabling segmented download may won't solve this problem. You should check the Settings/Queue options (F1 - Help) especially the one called : 'Automatically check for alternative download locations'

The function changed in version 0.708. The related changelog entry :
* [L#257225] Automatch of search results always on

If you check the corresponding bug entry I proposed a more scalabe solution but that was denied...

Can you help with this problem?
