Unable to browse file lists of other users

Asked by sAm

Hi everyone,

Here is my problem, I am unable to browse any users lists. People ca upload from me (very slowly) but I cannot connect to them. I can chat and see the users listed on the right, I just cant connect to them.

Here is what I have done so far: Opened ports and put them in the connection settings, allowed DC++ in Kaspersky Internet Security and Windows Vista Firewall. I have also looked at https://answers.launchpad.net/dcplusplus/+faq/131 and the one about being new and in need of documents and tips.

When forwarding my ports, I followed the Portforward.com guide and took a look at the DSL reports one.

Any help would be appreciated.

eMTee suggests to follow this article instead to track down the problem :
FAQ #85: “I've just downloaded DC++ and started to use. I need docs or a step by step guide how to make it work correctly. Where can I find them?”.

to make sure whether it's related to ports redirection, try in passive mode, to download from someone in active mode.

nothing happens in passive mode either

might be the hub blocking connections; try through other hubs?

Are you sure your provider doesn't block p2p?

Positive as I can still torrent fine and this problem only startedd happening after a reinstall of windows and a router reset. The funny thing is that last time all I had to do was open my ports and everything worked, this time, I have had to forward ports, I get the ip address is diffrent from the one the client supplied error occasionaly and it still doesnt work.

You'd better to go through the faq and all the linked subfaq's carefully again. Start with the Firewall part and set passive mode. If you already able to download from active users then go to the active mode part. All the required information is there, you can't get any more info about usual connection problems here.
