There is not enough space on the disk

Asked by mia

I was busy downloading a file but then it just stopped because: "There is not enough space on the disk". However, there is ample space left on my hardrive! What is causing this to happen? Could it be that the file is too large (5.5 Gig) - it's downloaded 4Gig so far?

If the target filesystem is FAT32 then yes.

Thanks. Yes, it is a FAT32. Is there anything that I can do to download the file?

Convert your partition to NTFS. FAT32 partitions can't hold a file greater than 4Gb.
