DC++ on Virtual PC

Asked by Sam G

I am running windows 2000 on a virtual machine (Microsoft Virtual PC 2004) and want to run DC++ on this but it will not connect to anything even in passive mode. The 'real' machine is behind a router with a port open for DC++ and DC++ works fine on the 'real' machine. The virtual machine has an internet connection which I have not had problems with there is no firewall on the virtual machine. Is it possible to set up DC++ on a virtual machine- if so how?

Many Thanks

Sam

First read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833134 , then configure your virtual machine network as "Network adapter on the physical computer"

When that's done configure the network on your VM with a static ip (by default its dhcp what causes probs for portforwarding)

Select ports for your TCP/UDP and TLS connections in dc++ and fill in there the VM IP, and last step forward those ports to that IP in your router :)

Can you help with this problem?
