Where can I download version 0.699

Asked by charliesimmons

I am currently using DC++ version 0.705 and have been having problems searching and downloading that I did not have when I was still using only v. 0.699. A techie friend, who also uses Windows XP, suggested that he has found it best to stay with ".699". I thought I would try reverting back, but cannot find where on the DC++ site (or elsewhere) to download the earlier version, though it was mentioned on the home page as the best for some earlier Windows versions.
Thanks!!

Hmmm, I apologize for hollering "help" before I had explored the 'net more thoroughly. Doing a google search on ".699", I found several sources. I should have thought of looking more widely than just the main DC++ page, where the "current" version is offered.

Currently, I cannot do a "search" or even download a filelist. Sometimes things work better if I switch to "passive", but not always. Some other people seem to be able to access my files, and some cannot.

All worked well "before" I upgraded, so I'm hoping that if I uninstall the "0.705" I currently have installed and "go back" to ".699", things might get better.

Any comments are welcome, even though I've resolved my original query. Maybe I'm all confused??? :-)

All I can recommend is to use the latest version (0.707) and try to solve your problem (which seem a common and version independent one) with it using the FAQs and documentation provided here in this site and also in the Help file.
Also to be sure that the installation is clean from unwanted spyware, etc. download DC++ only from the home page.

eMTee suggests the last 3 section of this article as an answer to your question:
FAQ #85: “I've just downloaded DC++ and started to use. I need docs or a step by step guide how to make it work correctly. Where can I find them?”.
