"DC++ has stopped working"

Asked by matt_285

I downloaded the latest DC++ earlier, and for a bit it worked fine. Then, I got a message from windows saying "DC++ has stopped working", and so it closed. It looked like a one off, but gradually it happened more and more frequently through the day until now it just happens every time I open DC++ after about 5 seconds...most annoying! It's on a laptop running Vista if that makes a difference? I hope someone can help!

Also, last time it crashed like this, it made my mouse pad and left/right buttons freeze! Please help! I tried an older version and it worked ok, but it didn't support multiple user downloads...so it was much much slower to download anything

Hi, it's v0.707. Although, I saw somewhere that you have to right click and "run as administrator" which I wasn't doing before, and since I've started doing that I've had no troubles.
However, when I download files, particularly large ones, the speed always gets terrible at the end, and it will only download from one, maybe two users, at a time...why is this?...it's so stessful to get through 6gb of data, only to spend a further hour trying to dl the last 10mb!
Cheers

take a look at Autodrop settings in Settings -> Queue, so these slow sources will be automagically dropped. ;)
