what is my ip address? where can i find it?

There are different ways to get it

1.) Press Right-Button on the NetworkManager (the symbol with the 2 Displays upon right) and Click then Connection Information.

2.) Open a Terminal and type: ifconfig (maybe you have more than one Networkdevice). You will got an Output like this:

The inet-Adress is your LAN-IP Adress, the Adress you got inside your local Network. In this case it is 192.168.2.100

When you need your external IP, you have to check your Router / DSL Modem, they got dynamic IP-Adresses from the Provider which change once in 24h (ADSL)

http://whatismyip.com is the safest way....
ifconfig is linux only, for windows you need to use ipconfig...
