Searching issues

Asked by Steve G

Using any version of DC after 0.691 I have the problem of only being able to perform searches for the first 2 or 3 mins the program is open, any searches after that return nothing.

OS is Vista, NAT is setup correctly on the wirreless router, all downloads work but searching for alternative D/L locations and normal searches cease to function.

Hub report shows me as 'active' with the correct WAN IP. Having un-installed newer versions and reverted back to 0.691 I now find that this has the same issue.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated...

Cheers

Have you tried this with several hubs? Many hub have (extremly long) predefined minimum search intervals set which can prevent you to search manually if you enabled automatic searching for alternative D/L locations.

I can leave the search window open for hours and still no reults are returned. Tried removing autosearch for alternatives, unfortunately still no results after the initial 2-3 mins open time..

Again, is this a behavior for one hub or you can't get more search results on any hub?

Soz bout that. All connected hubs have the same problem, tried removing and adding additional hubs to rule out hub issues, same problem.

I believe it might be a problem with your router. It might not send packages after 2 minutes time ( heard that with some routers). When searches stop working, try to see if your TCP/UDP ports in DC++ are still open from outside ( http://canyouseeme.org )

Or can be some flood protection enabled either in your router or on a security software you may have installed.

Can you help with this problem?
