port forwarding

Asked by Helmut Halm

I cannot use the search function in mode "firewall with port forwarding". In passive mode it is possible.

What i have done so far:

- I setted my fritzbox (router) and dc++ as it is recommended here: http://www.portforward.com./english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
- I tried different ports.
- I turned off my firewall.
- I even changed to exposed host, but no success.
- canyouseeme.org displays a time-out for the ports i have opened, for other ports it shows that they are not open.
- I use a static ip for my computer.

Well, i have already searched for two days (and nights ;) now and couldnt fix the problem. Can anyone else?

When using Firewall with manual portforwarding, are you sure the same ports are in the boxes in DC++ ? Both TCP and UDP ports.

yes, they are exactly the same. and in dc++ the ip is NOT my static one but the one whatismyip.com shows...

It should work. Possible reasons are : DC++ is not allowed via firewall ( perhaps windows one? ) , incorrect forwarding, incorrect settings, incorrect ip. I dont have more ideas at the moment....

as you can read in my first question i cannot. but it´s a different result between the ports i have opened (time-out) and really closed ones (not found)

Are there other computers in your LAN to test the forwarding with? Isn't there any security settings in your NAT device (router) enabled? DDos or flood protection or something like that. Isn't the router upnp capable? What about the router's built-in firewall? In some models making the port forward doesn't add the appropriate firewall rule.
Also you can try to upgrade the firmware to the latest and see what happens...

Can you help with this problem?
