connection timeout message we new bt home hud - how do i set my ports up

Installed new bt home hub wireless route. Am connected using ethernet cable, can open dc++, peple can download from me but if i try i keep getting "connection timeout" message, dont know how to set up my ports and so on.

You need to portforward some ports to your computer via the router so that DC++ can work in active mode. More info on FAQ :

Understand, but i dont know how to find out which ports my router is using

Check this guide gussy, http://www.portforward.com/

Gives you a step by step guide for individual routers and dc++. In terms of what port to use you can use any you want, most over a 1000 aren't in use.
