cant establish connection settings

Asked by DisturbedPyro

i had to reformat my C drive. so i lost all settings, drivers ect. i re-established my internet by installing drivers and all that. and it works fine. i install dc++ (v. 0.699 because i hate the new version) and set everything up. in connection settings im in passive mode (thats what i always had to use in the past too, i have a firewall) and under "outgoing connection settings" i have "direct connection" selected. this is all how i had it before

i try to connect to a hub and i get this error message: "An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions." ive never seen that before and have no idea what it means. the public hublists wont even load. it says "download failed." i tried using the latest version of dc++ and got the same error messages. please help! thanks

nvm, i got a new antivirus system (avg) and the firewall is in overprotective mode. it wouldnt let me connect to AIM or install macromedia flash player from adobe.com! the thing is a little too anal for me. so thats what fixed it
