The explanation could be that DC++ was trying to connect to some hub , but in fact it was a mail server listening on that IP and port ( in this case 110).
But it seems that youre running yourself the mailbox . Are you sure you did not connect with DC++ to your ip:110 or 127.0.0.1:110 ?
Theres something strange though..

Also can be a peer who use a common service port to bypass restrictions he may has on his ISP...

first of all, dc++ has automatic hub redirect turned off, so it shouldnt be trying to automatically connect to hubs
and i do not have a mailbox that i knowingly run, its strange why would a program want to connect to 127.0.0.1

what is this common service port that you are talking about?

They called well-known ports, generally under 1024 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TCP_and_UDP_port_numbers )

You seem to be using AVG ...

make sure you are not using port 10110 as your port for dc as thats the default spam redirect port that AVG uses.

To see exactely what process is using what port try www.sysinternals.com tool once it works fine

there is also a thread about this on the AVG forum http://forum.grisoft.cz/freeforum/read.php?3,57392,sv= :)

Can you help with this problem?
