My apartment building has free internet and i have no control over the network settings is there anyway i can get DC++ to work properly

Asked by awfulljackass

I can't get anything besides blubster to work for filesharing. I have been without DC++ for along time and i can't stand it anymore. Is there anything i can do or am i just screwed? I cant even see any users in passive mode. I would like to be able to use active mode, but would settle for a properly working passive mode if worst comes to worst.

I can't see any reason that DC++ wouldn't work if you have a proper internet connection ( passive should work very fine even if you don't have a public IP ). Perhaps the ISP is traffic shaping ? Try some ADC hub.

I have tried alot of different hubs, i guess i don't know what you mean by an ADC hub i did not see any with ADC in the name. If traffic shaping is indeed the problem is there any to combat this?

Check out this hublist: www.adchublist.com . If NMDC hubs dont work at all and ADC ones do, then it's traffic shaping and there is nothing you can do...
ADC hubs are hubs that have adc:// protocol specifier instead of dchub://

Can you help with this problem?
