cant see downloaded files

Asked by r4j

Hi, i just recently bumped into this problem. I think its since i updated dc++ to 0.705.I have downloaded files after updating which were succesfull, but never experience this problem before.

I can download files and they do come in the Finished Download section, but i am unable to open these. Also when i right-click and View As Text do, it says "The system cannot find the file specified". Some files i can see and some i cant.

Also when i open the download folder, i am unable to see the downloaded files. I have set the download directories to a location on my c:drive. This drive has around 700mb left which is enough.

Then what can be the problem??

thnx

The Finished downloads sections prints a message for each chunk of the file being downloaded. Appearing in there doesn't mean it's actually finished downloading. ( This is a bug , which hopefully will be solved ). Check your download queue to see if your downloads are finished and / or where are they placed.

I did check my download queue and it says the file has been downloaded. If i go to the downloaded location, the file isnt there.

Check your unfinished folders, too. If something keeps moving a finished download to the desired folder it will stay in the Unfinished downloads directory.

If a file is already downloaded it shouldn't be in your download queue anymore. Check it. Have you checked your unfinished folder? What can you see there? Are you getting error messages in the status bar? Start a download and check it.
A downloaded file can't disappear. Either its on your queue and its unfinished then or it has been finished and saved to the location you wanted to. If you don't have enough space in your target location it stays in the unfinished folder. If you don't have enough space where your unfinished directory resides it will show an error in the statusbar during download. No other case exists.
If you don't know what are these folders check the built-in help for Settings/Downloads.
