As soon as the operating system (Windows) will support more I am sure DC++ will as well :P

Well, Dopus has no problem whatsoever with path+filenames length above 255, so why does Dc++?

Because they made their own file manager just because this kind of limitations in Windows Explorer. The filesystem supports longer path, the Windows API (which most programs use) has some limitations. Read more : http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365247.aspx Other Windows based p2p softwares have this problem, too, so getting large directory structures from a unix peer could be a problem.
Feel free to file this as a bug marked 'Wishlist', as nothing's impossible... =)
