I can only download one item at a time

Asked by Panicattack

Hi,

I am having trouble with my DC++ in that it will only let me download one thing at a time. I can queue up as many as I want and I know that there are free slots for the users I've queued but it will stop after one download starts and tell me that all slots are taken for the other users. Even though the other users have free slots. Any thoughts? I'm really going insane with this. Also, If I check auto search for alt sources in settings it downloads every file list for everyone over and over without stopping. I'm using v.698 but it did the same with v.699 so I switched back. Thanks for helping.

Have you put limits on your own download slots? Check it under downloads and limits. I have mine set to 0 (infinite) download slots.

No, no limits. I have both of my limits set to 0.

My bad, I did not read your question fully.
You will only get one slot to one user in one hub. Even if he/she would have 10 free slots, you still only would get one at the time.

Yep, I understand that. My problem is not that I'm trying to hog slots - I can't get anything else to download once I start that first download. Different user, different file, different show - nothing else just one at a time. And my client grabs file lists repeatedly over & over. It's frustrating!

Check your Queue settings, so that DC++ doesn't drop your users as slow, or perhaps those size things with min filelist or min inactivity etc.
Does this happen to a sole user or to everybody you connect to ?
Also, try with 0.705 and see if it still happens ( also, try a fresh install ).

I tried a fresh install of .698 and it works beautifully now. Must have just been a glitch. Thanks for your help!

I had to COMPLETELY uninstall the program and not save any settings or queue. FYI

I think some settings were messed up and and a fresh install solved them...
