can't connect. even without a firewall.

Asked by jojo

after a Windows reboot in early December 2015, my DC++ stopped working. it would download the xml file, and it would say I'm connected to my hubs. but obviously it was not connected. I tried a few public hubs also, but would not connect. no error messages at all, just never displayed the other users or messages. I've been on DC++ for several years. I'm using Windows 7 and the current version of DC++. I rebooted DC++, I uninstalled/reinstalled DC++. I installed StrongDC++. I asked the forums, and they would only guess it's my firewall. obviously it isn't my firewall. But I checked Norton's firewall. I turned off Norton's firewall. I uninstalled Norton and removed my Windows Firewall. It's definitely not my firewall.
It's been more than a month and I have not been able to use DC++. any suggestions?

http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/webhelp/faq_unblock.html lists more possible software to check for interference. Also maybe it is your ISP/VPN provider that completely blocks the DC protocol but it's not common anymore these days.
