DC++

Can't find anything

Ok, so i set up everything, and i have direct connection, i dissabled the firewall, i share 10 giga, i connect to loads of hubs, and then when i try to search for something, it doesn't find anything.

Why is that?? What is wrong??

Perhaps you have problems setting up active mode . Read the FAQ : http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6518 . Or, try passive mode.

I tried passive mode, and it worked, but it doesn't find a lot.
When I had dc++ like ages ago, i know i had active mode, and it found a lot. I read the faq and did everything, but it still didn't work in active mode

Then, it means that passive mode is your last resort. Passive has less searches indeed, because you can only download from active. But thats it, at least it works now. Connect to more hubs to supplement the active loss.

it's soo sloow, why wouldn't the active mode work?? what if i have to put something in the ports box? I really want the active mode to work

Active mode only works if
1) you have a real external IP for yourself
2) youre behind a router that has one and you have access to it.

but how can i know if i'm behind a router? and if im not can I cchange something so I can be? Or how can i have a real external IP?

Ask your ISP. See where from your internet cable comes to your PC.
