Use DC++ for offline LAN file sharing

Asked by Emmanuel

I am new to DC++ and would like to use it for file sharing on a LAN which has no internet connection.

The setup of the network is very simple. All computers on the network are connected to a single gigabit ethernet switch and uses the following IP settings:

IP Range: 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.xxx
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

My goal is to have everyone be able to access each others shared files using DC++.

I have been using DC++ for a couple of days only and have been reading through documentation and from what I understand I would need to create a hub. But I am not exactly sure on how to do this for this kind of setup.

If someone could please assist me with creating a hub for a local only (offline) network and how to connect to it using DC++ it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Choose a hub software from this list depending on your needs and your server's operating system: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6545 then follow its documentation to set it up.
