Setting up active mode

Asked by Ixchel

I've followed the instructions for setting up DC++ in active mode to a T. I am using v.699 and have cleared the ports on my firewall but whenever I try and connect in active mode I'm blocked and nothing registers. So far I've been forced into using passive mode b/c I've tried tweaking every setting I can think of and nothing seems to work.

Anybody think they'd be able to help me get everything setup so I can run active?

Then your settings are wrong, still ;)
What firewall are you using? Have a look at http://www.dslreports.com/faq/dc/3._Setting_up

Make sure your IP is right,
that your firewall and/or router is set up properly (if you do have a router use this site: http://www.portforward.com./english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm )
and that your not blocked because you are connecting from an university or such.
