DC++ 0.699 can only search once

Asked by Pincus

Hey,
I am setup with "Firewall with UPnP", with everything else left blank in that section, and with "Direct Connection", below that. When I close that window, no error messages come up, so I assume everything is fine there? I am behind a router, with the firewall disabled, and also the Windows SP2 firewall completely disabled.

So then I connect to one or two hubs, with like 5000+ people in them (I have 300+gb share), and I search for something, such as "Simpsons" to check if everything is working. That works great. Brings up 4000+ results. However, from then on, whenever I search for something, it brings up either 0 results, or only a couple. Even when I search the exact same thing agian, "Simpsons", like 4 minutes later, it brings up basically nothing. If I want to search for something again, I need to reconnect to all the hubs.

Does anybody know why this is happening?

I have read this post, however that doesn't tell me anything (I consider myself a computer user, but you need to be a geek to be able to fix your problem with that answer...).

Thanks in advance!

Except for that answer, some hubs may block some searches and set an interval between them. Reconnecting to them resets the timeout. Also, DC++ is auto searching for alternates for your queue files, and even if you are not manually searching, your client does. Try waiting more time between searches . Also try to see if hubs send you a message to wait more time between searches or something like that.
You also need to setup your router right. See it's manual for flood settings...
