Can't open list because " Duplicate item in the file list "

Asked by Mark D76

I get " Duplicate item in the file list " when I try to open a friend's filelist. I got 0.830, they got 0.674.
People in the hubs I'm on often have same files shared more than once then I can't open the person's file list ?
I don't understand the benefit of this feature so I was wondering if I can disable this thing.

People can have the same file shared any times if they're in a different folder. This error happens only if some client provides a file list where the same filename exists more than once in the SAME folder.
The reason of this error is obivious as your friend uses an almost 10 years old obsolete client that can produce such bugous file lists. This is a bug and it is fixed in the latest versions.
What you can do is to either convince your friend to upgrade (recommended) or use the Browse filelist function instead. In the latter case the error happens only when you browse into a bugous folder so you can still get the rest of the file list content.
