TTH searching

Asked by GeoffJ

I have read the Wikipedia TTH information, but have not found or understood the answer to this question.

If I download a file and change it's name to be more meaningful, am I changing it's TTH value so that it will not now be matched with the original file? That is, is the filename itself included in the hash?
Thanks.

No, the name is hash independent. The hash is somewhat a "resume" of the file, but without it's name. So if you rename it, it will have the same TTH. If you change the contents ( for example, a tag on mp3 file, then the TTH changes ).

Can you help with this problem?
