What is your DC++ version ? If you are using versions prior to 0.701, you need external certificate creator. I recommend you update to 0.704 as it will generate itself a certificate.
If you are using 0.704... post again.

Any version gives me the same problem, I just tried the v0.704 but the same message appears which is annoying. I cannot just ignore this as it is preventing me from using DC++. I am unable to view users or download anything until this is resolved. Your help would be welcome.

TLS certificates have nothing to do with your problem. You should consult the FAQ at http://dslreports.com/faq/dc to properly configure active mode, which _is_ your problem.

Also, the error message, as I wrote in the blog post, can mean a multitude of things. If you are using 0.704, then it might be a permissions issue. (I have no idea otherwise.)

Yeah none of the reports help actually help me fix the problem or tell me how to fix the problem so DC++ can run as it should.

I don't see how it'll stop you from using DC++. They aren't essential for it to run, only for using encrypted stuff in adc hubs. What OS are you using ?
Seeing this message at first startup is normal, but after that they "should" be generated.

Can you help with this problem?
