DC++ over LAN

Asked by jack

Hi

I have only used DC++ over LAN, but after a few hours all my download speeds drop to like 2-3kb and no one can download from me. But it return to normal if I restart my PC and then in a few hours it will happen again. I am not hosting the server just connecting to it. I am not doing anything else while DC++ is busy.

Any ideas on what may be causing the drop in speed and how to fix it?

Thanks.

Your OS, DC++ version?
How's the memory and CPU usage when you have the problem? Why do you need to restart the whole PC instead of just restarting DC++?

Hi

Thanks for the reply

Win 7 64bit
version: 0.811

I'm not sure about the memory and CPU usage, I unfortunately can't check sins I'm not at a LAN right now.
It doesn't fix the problem when just restarting DC++.

Check above reply for info

Can the problem lie with the cpu and memory usage?

Not really but it may indicate that there's some resource exhaustion happens. However, the fact that restarting DC++ does not solve the issue signs that the problem is probably not with DC++ itself, instead its effect (high disk and network resource usage) that seems to cause problems in your system.

I will then check when I'm using it again.

Thanks for the help.
