Problem with connection after changing ISP

Asked by Don Andress

Hello.

So far I had Internet connection provided by one, medium size company with external IP they gave me.
But then a bigger player bought this company and something changed. First of all I have new IP (89.67.185.xx) and I don't know if it's external or internal.
Before I had: ISP, cable modem, my router, ports 400-500 and 3000-5000 routed to one PC only and everything was fine.
Now I have: ISP, cable modem / router, my router, and the rest as above.

I switched IP number in DC++ settings.
Nothing else has been changed in the home network settings or DC++

I think I don't have to rout packets in the 'cable modem / router' as only one device (my router) is connected.

Anyway now only passive mode works.
I mean, I can connect to hubs in active mode but can't search.

How do I fix that?
What should I change in the settings?
If there's something that my new ISP blocks, how do I test for it?

I've read this before but it doesn't really answer my questions.
