Multiple Joins and Parts

Asked by Arthur

When logged in to various hubs using DC++ latest or previous versions, I get continuous Join and Part from the hubs (usually a few minutes apart). Have reinstalled DC++ with no avail. One or two users at the hub have the same problem, but not all.

Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Yes, Show joins parts in chat is selected. That is how I noticed the problem of constantly parting and joining the hubs. Problem still persists.

"problem of constantly parting and joining the hubs" please elaborate this. I don't see why is it a problem? If you enable this function it'll show the joining and parting users. If you don't want to see them, disable this.

My interest is in stopping the "parts", since its constantly interrupting downloads. In other words, what is causing the contant disconnects (parts). Notice, the duration of these disconnects is brief, a few mins at a time. But a definite annoyance.

"User parts" means the user has just left the hub the time when this message is shown in the main chat; thus the parted client is disconecting every running download associated with the hub that it has just left. You can't do anything about this except asking the user not to leave so frequently.

I have asked. They do not have an answer. They just get disconnected, and a few mins later "join" again. This goes on all day long, in one or two minutes interval.

Again, you can't do anything about this in client side. Naturally it's the hub operators' competence to regulate the misbehaving users.

eMTee suggests this article as an answer to your question:
FAQ #90: “I can't connect or am banned from one or more hubs or I have a problem with a rule, user, etc.. in a specific hub. Can you help me?”.

Join/part is only the notification. Other... is from hub dependent. (Kick, Ban, Workload...)

Can you help with this problem?
