Adding virtual folder INSIDE existing virtual folder tree (please read description)

Asked by Payod Panda

Hi,
I have shared some folders from my external harddisk, let's say the one concerned is, T:\Setups, and mapped it to virtual folder Setups on my DC file list. Now T:\Setups has a folder called applications which has various setup files. So, my T:\Setups\Applications is mapped to virtual folder Setups\Applications.

Now I have many portable software on my laptop HDD that I wish to share, and include them INSIDE the virtual folder Setups\Applications. When naming the virtual folder after adding it, I can merge the folder with a parent virtual folder, like setups, but I can't find a way to include it in a folder INSIDE a parent virtual folder, in this case, Setups\Applications. I tried naming the virtual folder "Setups\Applications\Application1_name", with forward and back slashes. They just get converted to underscores ( _ ), and are added as a parent virtual directory only.

Is there any way to map a folder on my HDD, let's say P:\ABC, to the virtual folder Setups\Applications\ABC? I need to do this to keep my file list organised and to get workable read/write rates with my portable applications, and to not waste precious storage space anywhere.

It's not possible. You have to have the exactly same folder structure in all merged folders to do so. (Like P:\XYZ\Applications\ABC). The reason is that there's no virtual folder mapping here. The function is for creating a virtual _sharename_ for multiple real folders existing in your file system.
