How to disable taskbar tab preview?

Asked by John Peterson

How do I disable the Windows taskbar tab preview?

I argue that this preview can be disabled because

* it results in an extra click if the intention is to show the window without changing tab
* popular programs offer an option to disable it (Firefox, VMware Workstation, ConEmu) or doesn't offer it (Chrome)

you don't.

if they are bothering you, you may disable them globally in Windows for every program. DC++ is just following Microsoft's guidelines regarding these previews (show one thumbnail per tab).

But most of the programs show the last active tab in the taskbar preview - why it shows all the tabs as different windows in the taskbar. Is there any feature to disable the same ?

I agree with Hrushikesh Mohapatra (rajun198) . Windows shows preview for each window. Not for each tab.
Do you see 45 previews when you have 45 tabs opened at browser ? No.
