simultaneous searches

I just did a program update that failed. In the process it wiped away all my settings & favorite hubs. I got one of them back but I can only perform one search every 60 seconds..

Settings are never "wiped" away in an update. Depending on what version updated and how and in what OS and where it was/is installed they should be still available. Follow http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/webhelp/faq_settings_files.html

Probably you have different auto search settings in effect now than before.
