Can't download or connect

Hello all. I've used DC++ for years and never had serious issues with it. But now all of a sudden it won't let me download anything anymore. Also, when I try to download the application itself, I can't. Not from the sourceforge page or from any other site/mirror. Basically I'm unable to connect to DC and unable to download it. Also I can't download hublists. When I try to connect to a hub, it tells me that an "External host has ended the connection".
The problem as I see it can't be any firewall - I've been using the software settings I have for years and have checked for any firewall settings, have removed them and disabled them and none of it seemed to solve the issue.
Could anyone help me?
