dc++ v 0.674

Asked by Removed by request

Is it still possible to use this old version without sacrificing anything of significance over the newest version? Especially when running only private hubs where security is more strict?

Knowing the most important security reasons (http://dcpp.wordpress.com/2011/03/12/why-dc-0-674-is-insecure) itself should make anyone to upgrade, but above these and tons of other bugfixes, its only you who can decide that any new features of 6 years of development (since 0.674) is worth to you.
You can do so by checking the changelog ( http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/webhelp/changelog.html ) or better by tryng the portable version of the latest client without the risk of any hurt in your current old installation.

But I'd forward the question back : is there any reason to keep an old version if there's a newer one?
