Not in same hub. Some hubs allowed only one IP connected in hub. Other hubs allowed 2 or more connects. Where is write this message in hub when you try connect? I have 4 computer all connected to router and then to interner, with all computer i am on dc++ but different hubs. And i have no problems.

How do I use DC++ on both? You need to open & forward ports via your router.

Also, can a laptop be connected as well? Yes.

Also, you might be behind some NAT and when you search (you also broadcast your IP address) the hub disconnects you because of the invalid IP supplied. Try entering your correct external IP into DC++ settings box (you can see your IP on http://www.canyouseeme.org).

This doesn't necessarily mean that active mode is going to work for you. How to setup active mode (if possible in your case, otherwise use passive) read the faq on http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6518
