Can't open users' file list

Im extremely new to DC++ so i apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge. Anyways, i just set up DC++ and everything seems fine, im connected to my schools hub, but when i click on a user to view their files, nothing happens except that their name appears at the bottom of the window and eventually it says "connection timeout". Does anyone know what my best course of action is on this?? I really appreciate any suggestions you may have
