dc++ 0.770 crash with no warning

Asked by elyja

I'm quite new to this, so apologies if I do not use the correct jargon or indead the correct place, I have tried to read the previous reports but cannot find what I need.

I have a PC using Windows 7,(new PC purchased this year) I have downloaded from the official website. I have been using v 0.7xxxx and updated when new ones came out, until about 2 weeks ago it started to shut down without warning, only giving a short 'pop-up' box stating runtime error to contact your administrator. The time scale has got shorter and shorter until now it is only open for about 2 mins at a go, v frustrating.

I have downloaded 0.770 (in english) and the same happens, I have rolled back the installation to my oldest copy 0.750 and it still crashes, please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Sorry no, this does not answer my question, it just refers me to another system that to be honest, I do not understand, I am not a computer programmer or a tecky person.

I do not have another firewall system, I have had Zone alarm on a past computer that clashed with DC++ so I have not installed it on my new PC.

I am using to up-to-date version of DC++ that the web site states is stable, I do not get the BSOD, just, DC++ has stopped working, or Unexpected Run Time error.

PLEASE in non tecky, real English what information do you want me to give you to help

No it doesn't mean to be an answer its just the default text of the FAQ linking. However if you can't provide the information desctibed in the FAQ above, we can't decide if its a bug or just an incompatibility with your system. So all you can do is wait and hope if someone with the same sympthoms able to provide the information we need.
