DC++ 0.770 and DD-WRT UPNP

Asked by Serge

After upgrading to DC++ 0.770, it is not longer able to talk to the UPNP server that is running on DD-WRT (latest v24 SP2). After doing some reading, it seems that the new MiniUPnP implementation DC++ uses does not play well with DD-WRT's UPNP server. Unfortunately, I think this is a fault of DD-WRT for having a sub-par setup.

DC++ starts up and does not error our, but the UPNP details in DD-WRT do not show any new ports open. Searching and transfers also fail to work. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Is there a workaround for this? I have temporarily installed the previous version to go around this (although it's always a hit or miss with UPNP).

The best you can do is map your ports manually in DD-WRT's config page and configure DC++ according. If its not possible then you may try to use another upnp mapping tool and map your ports with it before running DC++. From my quick search this looks usable as it support 3 different upnp libraries : http://upnp-portmapper.sourceforge.net (not tried).

Btw. we're using MiniUPnPc (client), http://miniupnp.free.fr in 0.770. If possible, I'd like to see the links where they experience problems with this UPnP client library and DD-WRT.

Can you help with this problem?
