IP address not matching

Asked by Darkfung

My laptop has a static IP address, my router has a different one that changes all the time .... I've had to work through this to get DC++ to work ..... most hubs have no problem with me but one just kicked me out because it said my addresses didn't match .... it saw my laptop one and said it wasn't correct - but this isn't my fault, it's the only way my system will work ...... can I do anything to resolve this?

I can't search nor download. How can I setup active mode? https://answers.launchpad.net/dcplusplus/+faq/131

Go to File, Settings, Connection Settings, on External WAN / IP you need to enter your current IP. To find out your current IP, go to http://www.dslreports.com/ip or http://www.canyouseeme.org. You have to highlight the current IP that appears on your screen, copy & paste it on External / WAN IP on Connection Settings & hit OK.

Can you help with this problem?
