In Orgininal Disk...
- Release (The original release is not available.)
- Disk Name (The original disk name is not available)

If a field in the "Custom Disk..." section is "Optional", you can leave it empty.

You can still click the Next button if you leave optional fields empty.

(However, if all required fields are not filled out, you will not be able to click the Next button).

Hi CubicPPA,

Thanks for your answer.

What do you think about this empy fields ?

In Orgininal Disk...
- Release (The original release is not available.)
- Disk Name (The original disk name is not available)

What is the role of these options ?

Regards

These two values are from the "README.diskdefines" file located in the top level directory on the original ISO.

"README.diskdefines" seems to be a Canonical or Ubuntu specific file, since not all distros have this file.

Therefore, both Release and Disk Name are optional fields.

1. "Release" is extracted from the "DISKNAME" field, which is (usually) the first field in this file.

2. "Disk Name" is the full value of the "DISKNAME" field in "README.diskdefines".

3. Note that "Disk Name" is also used to create the "info" file located in the ".disk" (note the dot) directory of the ISO.

4. You may also be interested in the "Release URL". This is obtained from the "release_notes_url" file, also located in the ".disk" directory of the ISO. Again, this is optional since not all distros have this file.
