Can I Use Ubuntu Base With Cubic?

Asked by Distro Maker

Ubuntu Base https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Base is only about 25MB and is the smallest implementation of Ubuntu that enables one to install other packages.

However, it comes as a tarball containing the root filesystem and not as an iso.

How would I use Cubic to customise it?

Ubuntu Base is the root file system.
That is what you would customize on Cubic's Terminal page.

However, Cubic manages creating the ISO for you.
The (compressed) root file system is just one part of the ISO.
The ISO itself has other information on it, including how to bootstrap and load the Linux kernel.

You will not be able to create an ISO out of Ubuntu Base using Cubic.
You should start with an Ubuntu based *.iso file.
