I have change the plymouth,sideshow,ubiquity,themes

Asked by Andrew L Millspaugh

Hello I'm new to Cubic and have a question. I have change the plymouth, sideshow, ubiquity, themes but when I boot it up on a usb and install it, just the name of the iso shows up and none of the new stuff I added, I have checked it to see if its in usr/share/ and it is in there all my changes, but none of my changes worked, is there a command I need to use to keep Cubic from over riding my changes?

Thanks

What do you mean “name of the ISO”?
Cubic doesn’t over ride your changes.
Give details about what you did?

Hi, ok what i mean is I made a custop ISO in the disk image to customize on cubic. In the virtual environment terminal I have copyed my files of plymouth, sideshow, ubiquity, themes these to the /usr/share folder. when cubic Is finished making the iso, I put it on usb and try it out but all my settings are gone like I did not even add them. Thats what I mean.

And I know the files are there because I went in to the folders custom-root and usr and share and the files and folders I installed are there.

(1) Plymouth for Custom OS

I presume you made your plymouth customizations under `/usr/share/plymouth`.

Did you update alternatives to point to your custom Plymouth theme under `/usr/share/plymouth/themes`.

Are your files in the final live environment?
Boot into the Live ISO, and select "Try Ubuntu".
Open a terminal, and CD to `/usr/share/plymouth/themes`.
    Are your files there?

This new Plymouth theme will only be visible after you install the OS.

(2) Plymouth for Live ISO

The Plymouth theme for the Live ISO is setup in custom-disk folder
You currently have to setup the plymouth theme for Live ISO outside of Cubic, if you want this.

(3) Ubiquity

I presume you put your Ubiquity files under `/usr/share/ubiquity-slideshow/slides/`?

Are your files in the final live environment?
Boot into the Live ISO, and select "Try Ubuntu".
Open a terminal, and CD to `/usr/share/ubiquity-slideshow/slides/`.
    Are your files there?

(4) Desktop Themes

I presume you put your desktop theme under `/usr/share/themes` ?

Did you override the default gsettings to use this theme?

Are your files in the final live environment?
Boot into the Live ISO, and select "Try Ubuntu".
Open a terminal, and CD to `/usr/share/themes/`.
    Are your files there?
