OEM install slideshow

Asked by Synema

Hi!

I have a problem with oem install.

When i install the system as an OEM user, and the install starts, there is the ubiquity slideshow. "ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu"
I can edit those files in cubic without problem, but in oem, its using a special one, which named "oem-config-slideshow-ubuntu" which is not accessable from cubic.
It seems that its installed when oem user created.
can i remove that or edit it somehow and implement it in the system? My main porpuse to use OEM install, not the default one.

Although oem-config-slideshow-ubuntu is not installed in the Live ISO, I suspect this packaged is installed when needed from /cdrom. The oem-config-slideshow-ubuntu deb package is stored in the pool directory of the ISO (referenced as /cdrom by the installer).

Of course you can't (very easily) modify the *.deb package.

However, your approach should be to install the oem-config-slideshow-ubuntu inside Cubic's virtual environment using apt.

Then modify the files under /usr/share/oem-config-slideshow/ as you need.
(See https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/all/oem-config-slideshow-ubuntu/filelist).

Since the package will have been already installed, the Live environment should not need to use the (unmodified) *.deb file from /cdrom. Instead, it should use your modified files from the Live environment.

(Be sure to flag oem-config-slideshow-ubuntu as a package to be remove ~after~ installation on Cubic's Packages page).

I tried to follow those steps and modified and place the file in /usr/share/oem-config-slideshow/ but it's been ignored, any suggestions ?

Can you help with this problem?
