feature request for different squashfs compressions

Asked by Lukas Veitas

Hi. I was wondering if a feature to select different compression algorithm (in squashfs) would be possible. I know for a fact that xz and gzip compressions are possible in the image. Current algorithm is quite expensive in terms of disc space, though it generates squashfs image quite fast.

Can you add an option to select compression algo, possibly with compression level and thread count?

This is really the only thing in your application that bugs me. Everything else - amazing.

Best regards.

Sure!
I'll add it to my list of future enhancements.

Currently, Cubic is using gzip compression.
Are there specific compression algorithms you are interested in?

I would love to see an option for xz (LZMA2) compression., personally.

Ok, thanks for the info.
I'll be sure to include xz compression when I add this feature.
Right now, I don't have a time line as to when this will be implemented.

Can you help with this problem?
